Solid Waste Integrated Resource Plan

In 2007 the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation kicked off their first stakeholder driven Solid Waste Integrated Resource Plan in an effort to develop a vision that would guide a 20 year implementation plan. TRG worked with the City towards the goals of eliminating the use of urban landfills, developing alternative technologies for long term waste disposal, increasing recycling and resource recovery, and converting the entire Sanitation fleet to clean fuel Liquid Natural Gas vehicles. As environmental sustainability and waste disposal is an issue that affects each and every household in Los Angeles, TRG hosted “house parties”, conducted workshops, and participated in citywide conferences to talk about equitable distribution of solid waste.
