Los Angeles Metro

Crenshaw/LAX Joint Development

On June 23, 2016, Metro approved the Joint Development Guidelines for each opportunity site. The Joint Development Guidelines are designed to set the program, massing, and architecture/urban design expectations for development.

The Robert Group conducted public outreach for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project’s two Joint Development Opportunity Sites, which are located at the north end of the under-construction 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project. The two station opportunity sites will accommodate transit-oriented development compatible with the community while facilitating transfers from the new Crenshaw/LAX Line (underground station) to the existing Expo Line (above ground station), connecting South Los Angeles with LAX, USC, Downtown Los Angeles, Culver City, West LA, and Santa Monica. The two transit lines, once completed, will serve a significant regional ridership.

The Robert Group facilitated a series of workshops at both opportunity sites. Meetings were held in a combination of formats: as presentations with Q & A, open houses or facilitated discussions. We also conducted key stakeholder meetings as well as elected official briefings.
