Project Status
Summary
The goal of the City of Los Angeles’ 2010 Bicycle Plan is to increase the number of bicyclists by providing additional access to public rights-of-way. The Bicycle Plan, part of the Mayor's Great Streets Initiative, is intended to reduce automobile trips and greenhouse gas emissions by increasing bicycling to 5% of all daily and 3% of all commuter trips by 2020. This project will add 200 miles of bike lanes to the City's network of established bike paths.

The Robert Group’s outreach effort included facilitating roundtable discussions with local elected officials, neighborhood councils, Business Improvement Districts, property and business owners, and the community living along the proposed bike lanes. TRG also coordinated a highly successful online workshop that introduced the project to a diverse group of city-wide stakeholders. Engagement efforts continued with developing stakeholder relationships, managing community feedback, and coordinating briefings and presentations to neighborhood councils and the project round tables.
