TRG is responsible for developing project messaging, creating awareness for the project and ensuring opportunities for feedback at every stage of the process. Our team manages communication and logistics for all meetings and outreach events including execution of a detailed marketing campaign for meetings and the project overall. Our engagement on this project strategically targets unique demographics, language needs, geography, and key groups in each community within the project area as well as regional stakeholders.
In collaboration with Studio-MLA, TRG developed and lead community workshops to provide the public an opportunity to learn about the project and offer their input. Additionally, TRG participated in and reported on in-park activities such as hikes and bike rides, presented on the project at local City Council meetings and developed survey reports. In the last stage of the design phase, TRG will develop an interactive ArcGIS StoryMap to keep the community updated on the project status and continue to engage with the community through social media and project newsletters.
We're excited to share an update on our progress in creating a vibrant park for the community. You can now view the 2023 Concept Plan on the project website, which was released last year. This plan reflects the culmination of a year filled with engaging Community Workshops, pop-up events, and informative site tours.
On September 6, 2025, ground was broken at Puente Hills Regional Park, launching Phase 1 of one of the County’s most significant environmental justice and public space projects in decades. The first phase of the park will serve unincorporated communities from the San Gabriel Valley, including Bassett, Avocado Heights, Valinda, Hacienda Heights, and Rowland Heights, as well as the City of Whittier.
With each step forward, we're making significant progress towards realizing a park that truly aligns with the needs and aspirations of the community. Stay tuned as we continue to bring your ideas to life!
