Summary
In 2019, construction began for the new Frank Gehry-designed facility for the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) in Inglewood, led by LA Philharmonic Music and Artistic Director, Gustavo Dudamel. Founded in 2007 by Dudamel, the YOLA program has provided access to quality music education to tens of thousands of children from underserved communities around Los Angeles.

The 25,000-square-foot, $14.5 million construction project was designed by Frank Gehry, the world-renown architect who designed Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, in close collaboration with Dudamel. Today, YOLA serves as a cultural resource for the youth of Inglewood, housing a light-filled, flexible facility for rehearsals, classes, and performances for the community.

TRG led the implementation of the community participation plan, coordinating with local media, engaging with diverse stakeholder groups, organizing outreach and community events, facilitating meetings, and assisting in the social media outreach. TRG is proud to have played a part in this inspiring and transformative addition to the City of Inglewood.
