The Forum, a historic Los Angeles landmark built in 1967, was purchased by the Madison Square Garden Company in 2012 with plans for a $50 million restoration effort. Located in the heart of Inglewood, the Forum has previously hosted the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Kings, and featured artists such as Prince, Barbara Streisand, and the Jackson 5. With potential to revive the building as both an entertainment hotspot and community resource, Madison Square Garden brought TRG on board to engage local stakeholders, businesses, and community groups in imagining the future of this local landmark.
This year, the Forum is proud to host the MTV Music Awards (VMA's). "[Having the show] at the Forum is a huge deal for me," Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine said. "Our band was born and raised in Los Angeles, and it's such an iconic staple. For the first time in our career we're stepping out as our band on its biggest platform. Everything led to here."
